FA Respect Programme

FA.com - RespectThe League has joined the growing number of Leagues throughout the Country to support the FA Respect Programme.

Together we can really make a positive difference, so we encourage all our teams to fully embrace Respect, which consists of four practical steps:

1. Designated Spectators' Area: There will be a demarcated area along the touchlines, within which spectators must stay.

2. Respect Codes of Conduct: There is a Code of Conduct for the five main types of football participant, including spectators, parents and carers.

3. Captain taking responsibility There will be a drive to enhance captaincy skills, encouraging captains to take responsibility for their players' actions and behaviour.

4. Referee managing the game: There will be a similar drive to enhance referees' match management skills

Respect is The FA's programme of activities to combat unacceptable behaviour in our game at every level - on the pitch and from the sidelines. Developing this strategy involved a survey of 20,000 officials, spectators, managers and players at grassroots level.

The biggest problem identified in the survey was behaviour on and off the field, with abuse and intimidation causing players and referees to drop out of the game. The Respect Campaign aims to allow people to play, officiate and watch football without being abused, mocked, insulted, jeered, physically assaulted, unnecessarily criticised, pushed too hard, driven to tears or laughed at for trying.

Please join us in support of this FA Standard and give the kids back 'their game' enforce your Designated Spectator and Technical Areas.
