The under 9s Rep Team travelled to Wantage to play their Oxford Mail League counterparts on Weds 19th October and a nervous start saw them trail by 2 goals in the opening 10 minutes.

However once the boys settled, they started to play some excellent football and came very close to pulling a goal back right on the stroke of half time.

The second half started as the first half had finished with the North Wilts boys playing the better football but unable to break down a resilient Oxford rearguard.

Against the run of play Oxford added a third, but the boys rolled up their sleeves determined to have something to show for their efforts.

A long clearance found Spencer Bunce who homed in on goal before unleashing a great shot into the top corner of the goal.

The goal spurred the boys on, but despite the team playing entertaining football they were unable to further breach the Oxford defence and the game finished in a 3-1 triumph for the hosts
