09/10 SEASON MATCH REPORTS

NW&DFL vs. Oxford Mail Boys League 181109

The Under 14 reps side played their first match of the season on Wednesday 18th against their counterparts from the Oxford Mail league at the Corinium Stadium Cirencester.

North Wilts started brightly and through the industrious midfield they carved out a few openings for the lively strikers.

However against the run of play it was Oxford who opened the scoring on virtually their first foray into the NW half.  Lewis Carpenter with a fine finish from a neat move.

This did not deter the NW team and they were soon level when Tyler Rudman fired a low left footed shot past the advancing Oxford keeper. Rudman then scored another with a drive from a tight angle before completing a first half hat trick with neat header from a right wing cross from Luke Parsons. Christy Millar almost increased the score with a 20 yard effort that was brilliantly tipped over.

Half Time NW 3 Oxford 1

The NW team started as they left off and were now playing with increased confidence. Shots from Ross Paone & Finlay Gordon tested the keeper before Tyler Rudman added his & NW's fourth goal.

NW were by now in total control of the game and playing some fantastic flowing football. The defence, marshalled superbly and captained by Bradley Caton-Garrett, were hugely impressive and thwarted any attacks that Oxford offered.

The dominant midfield were now spraying the passes about and attacking down both flanks. 2 quickfire Christy Millar goals increased the NW lead before another flowing move saw Luke Parsons get on the end of a Matt Davies cross to add the seventh before Millar completed his hat trick with a cheeky lob with the keeper stranded off his line.

This completed the scoring to round of an emphatic 8-1 win for the U14's.
