Anyone who has been involved in coaching kids football or even running a team will tell you it's hard work, but ultimately it can be incredibly rewarding.
And if you want to know where to start, this DVD is absolutely terrific. It mixes the basics, right down to choosing a team for your children to play with or starting up your own team, all the way through to warm-ups, drills and even touches on the FA's respect campaign (vital for the children and their parents to think about that).
It never loses sight of the fact that football for 6-10 year olds should be (above everything else) a lot of fun, and that in essence is this DVD's major appeal.
Thoroughly recommended.

Want to know how to run a successful football team or be involved as a partent ? Then this covers the lot, and is really professional in its production and listen out for the really funky music (wonder if they release a soundtrack). I was quite amazed how much information was covered, it has a balance of real footie action and studio instructions, which are direct to the point.

If you want to start a team, or are inexperienced then this video tells you about the legal side, even using the FA`s website. It really gets good when you see the many drills to use, and you even get to watch a real match, with an interesting touchline incident, obviously acted out, but really pushes the point home. My favourite bit ? Must be the fun drills, the kids were having a great time, and the music is really toe tapping stuff.

I would highly recommend this if - you are a parent, and want to understand what goes on at young football age, or definately if you want to become a coach or manager. Start off with this, it`s the perfect grounding.

As a parent I found this a great introduction to Mini Soccer. The drills, the fun stuff, the match and the empahsis on the FAs Respect program all made this an interesting and informative DVD. There is advice on all aspects of Mini Soccer including how to find a team in your area, how to volunteer and get involved, how to start on the path to becoming an FA qualified coach and even how to form your own team. But the thing that shines through on this DVD is just how much fun the kids are having while learning to play the beautiful game. Go Back

Let the Children play...

They stand on the field, their hearts beating fast
The whistle’s been blown, the die has been cast
Mum and Dad cannot help – they face this alone
A goal at this moment would send the team home!

The ball’s at his feet… he shoots and it misses
There’s a moan from the crowd, boo’s and hisses
A thoughtless voice shouts “take off the bum”
Tears fill his eyes, it’s no longer fun

If you find yourself tempted to shout or to groan
Just think – it’s a child who stands there alone!
So open your heart, give them a break
In moments like this a player you make

Keep this in mind, please don’t forget
Those players are our children - not adults, not yet!
